New WordPress.org course in Dublin

After being asked by many people how to use WordPress.org, I’m excited to say that I have written a new course, which will cover:

How to use WordPress.org, set up a hosting account, install WordPress to it, upload themes and plugins, and customise your site using a mobile-ready theme and page creation plugin to create responsive column based content’.

Course Date & Location

ipad-820272_640Our first WordPress.org Course will take place at the Open College in Dublin 18 on Thursday November 24th at 9.45 am and probably finish around 4 pm (plus/minus 30min as this is a test run of the course), including lunch. The course is limited to 5 participants and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The course is priced at €249 per person (incl. 1 year hosting and domain) and because this will be a trial run there will be a very special 35% discount available, which will bring the price down to only €160! This includes a full day training, 1 year web hosting (worth €60), 1 year domain registration, a manual with step-by-step instructions, lunch on the day and you’ll go home with a full WordPress.org website set up.

Our chosen hosting provider for the course

This course will include a hosting account with Spiral Hosting (worth €60) and domain registration for a year is included in the hosting package (worth up to €20). Please note, you should not register anything beforehand we will register the hosting account and domain on the day, I will have coupons for every participant so there won’t be a need to use a credit card on the day.

WordPress Theme and Plugins we are going to use

vantage-wp-responsive_optTo read more about the course and everything that’s included, please go to http://web-training.ie/. This website is using the theme we’re going to use on the day. The theme is called Vantage which is an advanced multi-purpose WordPress theme. Vantage’s flexibility offers the ability to create anything from a simple blog to a complete business website, portfolio or online store.

pagebuildersiteorigin_optWe are also going to use the most popular WordPress page creation plugin Page Builder by SiteOrigin. It’s a great tool to create responsive column based content, which adapts to all mobile devices, ensuring your site is mobile-ready.

More about WordPress hosting in Ireland

I have worked with a lot of hosting companies over the years and have chosen ‘Spiral Hosting’ as my personal favourite with the best customer service out there —in my opinion they offer reliable, fast, friendly and efficient customer support at it’s best. Every hosting provider is different, so I had to choose one I’m happy with to recommend to clients and I feel very confident in my choice. To see all technical details and what’s included in the hosting account, please see http://web-training.ie/hosting-provider-spiral-hosting/.

Please note, hosting providers are not all the same and can vary greatly; this course is tailored to a Spiral hosting account and you will not be able to use a different hosting account on the day. If you have a domain registered somewhere else already you can transfer this over to your new Spiral hosting account at a later stage; you would still need to register a new domain on the day (as the transfer process can take up to 7 days) which you can then redirect to your website, so more people can find you in search engines.
